A Full House at the Paramount Theater

Our summer 2013 Chapter 6 Networking event felt like Charlottesville’s most diverse family celebration. As we enjoyed Chef Tony’s famous Cuban sandwiches and CIC graduate Yolunda Armstrong’s pecan pie, keynote speaker Toan Nguyen of C’ville Central shared the touching story of Chuck Lewis Passion Award recipients Geiner and Daisy Rojas. The audience included the Lewis family and the Rojas family, as well as C’ville Central’s very first customers. Diverse local entrepreneurs and business owners mingled with City and County leaders.

“It is a huge honor to be recognized with the Chuck Lewis Passion Award,” Daisy said. “The Lewis family has remained an example of business intelligence and savvy entrepreneurship in our community. Both Leah and Charlie continue the legacy of their parents, not only in business pursuits but also as positive examples of how human relationships build good business models.”

“In a similar way I believe our business is built with a focus on the mutual ethics of quality, human relationships, community engagement and hard work. For us this model has proven successful although at times more difficult than we ever could have imagined.”

The room was filled with emotion as we celebrated Geiner & Daisy’s hard work to overcome the obstacles and build a thriving business.
