FABA Receives 2016 Vanguard Award

Chamber Business Diversity Luncheon
Tuesday, September 20, 2016, 11:00am-1:30pm
Jefferson School African American Heritage Center

I’ll be there!

We are honored to announce that our colleagues at the Chamber Business Diversity Council have selected Forward/Adelante Business Alliance to receive the 2016 John F. Bell Sr. Vanguard Award.

FABA is grateful for this recognition of our efforts to promote business diversity, beginning with the founding of the Forward/Adelante journal by Olga Morse. Throughout our growth from the first bilingual business journal in Virginia to a regional networking hub, our alliance has brought together Hispanic and other diverse business communities in Central Virginia. As our work continues, we hope you will join us in celebrating how far the efforts of Olga and the Forward/Adelante team and community have come.

Please join us for the award presentation at CBDC’s annual Business Diversity Luncheon on September 20. Connect with diverse professionals over lunch and enjoy a keynote address by Bill Cooper, Director of Diversity & Strategies at Atlantic Constructors.

The John F. Bell Sr. Vanguard Award was established in 2015 to “recognize an outstanding business person or individual who promotes diversity within the business community in our Greater Charlottesville area.” The J.F. Bell Funeral Home, founded in 1917, is the area’s oldest existing business owned by people of color.

FABA is a culturally diverse business alliance where professionals, business leaders and organizations can share ideas, provide education and build relationships. Together, we’ll learn from each other, expand our network base, promote our services, and support our local economy.
