The Best and Brightest of CBIC On Wednesday June 2, nearly 300 business leaders attended the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council's 2010 Awards Gala at the Farmington Country Club. Local companies, nonprofits, and public servants were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the dynamic business economy in the Charlottesville area. Dr. Gregory Fairchild, Executive Director of the Tayloe Murphy Institute at the Darden School of Business, delivered a stirring keynote address describing several visionary companies that have invested in at-risk communities with stellar results. Congressman Tom Periello commented that Central Virginia is blessed to have a thriving high-tech sector, and CBIC Chair Gary Hatter concluded by congratulating all the nominated companies for their commitment to "teamwork, technique and tenacity".
